Extension

Tags

This extension for ExpressionEngine allows you to specify where the user is taken after login (or logout), rather than displaying EE's default "you are logged in" message. This extension gives you control over whether or not to display the confirmation message at login or logout. You may choose to return the user to the last-visited page after they log in, or you may provide a specific page for all users after login or logout. NOTE: WE ARE NO LONGER MAINTAINING THIS EXTENSION. (If you're interested in taking it over, email corey@twomile.com)

This extension may not work properly on sites using MSM/multisite or EE forums.  This is a free addon, so support is pretty limited, but I do monitor the support forum here on devot:ee so if you have anything, please post.

Hooks Used

If the add-on is an extension, and ties into ExpressionEngine's core files, it will use ExpressionEngine hooks. We are listing any hooks the add-on uses for developers to have an easier time locating other add-ons that they can reference for their own work.

  1. member_member_login_single
  2. member_member_logout

With the fix that TenFastFeet recommended (at line 187 and 259), I just installed this on a 2.9.0 site running EE Zoo Visitor, and it worked fine!

Works like a charm!  However, I had to modify the source to redirect to the “site_url” as opposed to “/”.  Here is the relevant code:  if (strlen($url) < 1) $url = $this->EE->config->config[‘site_url’];

Although its purpose is great, it pains me to see that this plugin cannot be installed on servers that run their MySQL database in Strict mode.

Makes the login/out process feel far more professional for the end user. Also works with Solspace User without the two tangling each other up. Excellent.

Great! links sent to members in emails go straight to the page, stops them having to go back to email to click again.

Works very well, very easy to add and setup. It’s great to get rid of the annoying confirmation boxes as they are pretty ugly. Nice work!

I was running into some odd behavior while logging into the front-end of a site. I installed this extension to see if it’d make the process go any smoother, and it did! Login Redirect completely removes EE’s native clunkiness from the login/logout experience. Great!

I’m not sure why they have the EE2 version available for download, since it doesn’t work at all. A shame, since this was great on EE 1.x.
