Formatting Buttons Plus has no such restrictions. It will output formatting buttons in any form for any field you might wish; it can even output several lines of formatting buttons on the same page. You also can add additional buttons and define the order of buttons.

The From To Converter plugin is designed to help deal with ranges of entries using the exp:weblog:entries tag. It outputs values of "start_on" and "stop_before" parameters of exp:weblog:entries (for EE1.x) or exp:channel:entries (for EE2.2+) tag by inputting entry_ids of the first and the last entry in range.
