Export Members - Version 1.4
The Export Members module provides a simple interface for selecting member registration data from all groups, member fields, and custom fields added to the Member registration form.
Select from any of the fields available and download your data in a single click. The only requirement is that at least one field is selected. You can even choose to save your selections to easily export your records again at a later date and time.
This module is perfect for saving registration records, outputting newsletter lists, or exporting data for third-party use.
The Export Members module has been updated to output either native Excel or CSV depending on your requirements. Users with large data sets or limited memory available to PHP can now use the CSV options to export their data.
The Export Members module uses the PHPExcel Library which can use a lot of memory to generate native Excel spreadsheets. For this reason you may need to increase the memory allocated to PHP for executing scripts. The minimum for Expression Engine is 32M so you may want to try increasing this to 64M or more. This can be done by:
Increasing the memory limit in your php.ini file
ex: memory_limit = 64M
Increasing the memory limit in your .htaccess file
This method will only work if PHP is running as an Apache module.
ex: php_value memory_limit 64M
The alternative to this is to export member data in smaller chucks and then merge them together in Excel as a single file. Try using the limit and offset options to export record sets that do not require large amounts of memory. This may need to be adjusted further depending on the number of options that you need to export.
The script itself will also set the execution time within PHP to unlimited, but depending on your server environment, you may need to adjust this at the php.ini level. You should also note that some large spreadsheets can take several minutes to run before the file output can begin.
If you are on shared hosting that limits your ability to change the memory limit or the script execution time, you may be limited to exporting smaller data sets.
