This module will helps you to move category from one group to another.
Changing groups is a very simple process: just drag-n-drop category to the new group and save your changes.

Installation

Extract directory “cuho_categories_groups” from archive and copy to the system/expressionengine/third_party/ catalog of your site install.

Go to “Add-ons > Modules” in top menu and seek for “CUHO Categories Groups” module.
Click “Install” link in the last cell of the table row.

That’s it, module installed.

Usage instructions

After module installation entry “CUHO Categories Groups” on “Add-ons > Modules” page will become a link.
Click on “CUHO Categories Groups” item for categories-to-groups management.

You will see your groups with categories assigned to them.
Grab category entry and drag to another category, you will see visual helper where you can drop category.

Re-arranged categories will be placed in bottom of the table, below the grey notice line.
Such approach will always show which categories will be moved from other groups.

Click “Save changes” button in bottom, to save your changes.

Sub-categories notice

For some technical reasons ( and obvious logical too ) sub-categories cannot to assigned to another group different of their parents.

If you want to change group for the particular sub-category you should edit this category: change parent category to “none” ( make ir a top-level category ).
Then after you will be able to change group for it.

Categories sorting

Categories order which you can see on the module page cannot be changed on the page.
But you can always change order inside the group using standard EE functionality.

To change categories order inside the group click on group table head and you will be redirected to the group categories page.
