Basically this accessory lets you set keyboard shortcuts for specific places in the CP. It shows you a list of available shortcuts and lets you add new ones. For example, you could set it so that you type ctrl+1 to take you to the CP homepage. alt+1 takes you to the template manager. Just c takes you to the Communicate page.
Viewing Available Shortcuts
To view a list of available shortcuts, use the key combo ctrl+shift+k. A modal will display all available shortcuts. Alternately, all available shortcuts are shown in the left section of the accessory drawer when it is open.
Creating A New Shortcut
You add a new shortcut by navigating normally to the page you’re looking for, opening the accessory (either by clicking on the accessory tab or typing alt+ctrl+k) and giving it a key combo. It will automatically fill in the title and url for the shortcut based on what page you’re looking at.
Editing An Existing Shortcut
To edit an existing shortcut, you click on the little pencil icon next to the shortcut you would like to edit. That shortcut’s information is added to the form in the right-hand section of the accessory drawer. Make your changes and click the submit button.
Deleting An Existing Shortcut
To delete an existing shortcut, simply click the trash can icon next to the shortcut you would like to delete.
Valid Keyboard Combinations
You can use various combinations, but some are not supported. Examples of valid combos:
1 (single numbers)
b (single letters)
The shortcuts will not interfere with your normal typing in various form fields like inputs and textareas.
