This plugin chops off words at certain lengths, useful for links or strings of variable sizes that could break your beautifully designed templates!

Wrap the string to chop in the plugin tags. There are two parameters you can pass to this plugin to customise the behaviour:

     
  •   limit (optional): The number of characters you want to limit the string by. Defaults to 15.
    •  
  •   ender (optional): The string to append to the chopped string. Defaults to ‘...’

An example:

{exp:chopper limit="22"}{/exp:chopper}

More helpfully, you can pass through variables from the URL or in channels to the chopper:

{exp:channel:entries channel="blog"}
  {exp:chopper limit="10" ender="|"}{/exp:chopper}
{/exp:channel:entries}
