The features you’d expect
CartThrob calculates shipping and tax, creates and processes coupons, stores orders, products, configured items, sends receipts and more. CartThrob has all of the features you’d expect of a traditional shopping cart, without any of the overhead.
Create related products, upsells, cross sells, options and add-ons. Display categories, user reviews, comments, and ratings. Customized orders, unique products, and integration with third party systems are all possible with CartThrob. You can sell classified ads, software, take donations, monetize your content, and even use your cart to give products away.
Payments and shipping
CartThrob has a plugin architecture which allows you to add payment gateways, and shipping options that work interchangably. CartThrob offers integrated credit card payment processing using common payment gateways including Authorize.net, Paypal Pro, Transaction Central and Sage! CartThrob can be used internationally, and will allow you to change payment processors on the fly, or provide your customers with multiple payment and shipping options.

Purchased both CartThrob Pro and the Subscriptions addon, but have been unable to get any support in over three weeks of trying (Contact form, Twitter, system within Cartthrob itself, forums). No support means 1 star only for me.

I used another popular ecommerce add-on and wasn’t happy with the restrictions and slow support. CT is the complete opposite - using channels for everything allows you the greatest flexibility and the support is outstanding.

Currently on my 7th CT site. The thing I like most is that it’s a framework, and pretty much any feature you need can be built using CT tags. Plus the support is a m a z i n g - fast, helpful and detailed. I’ve tried BR (slow support imo) and Store and they’re OK, but ultimately restrictive.

I’ve used this Addon since v1, and it’s the best eCommerce plugin i’ve found. It’s so flexible, and easy to build on top of. As well as an eCommerce site, i’ve used this plugin for an event site to take online payments. Support from CT is amazing also!

Cartthrob is, by far, the most flexible and customizable shopping cart solution available for EE2. Chris has always been fantastic with my support requests (and I do bug him frequently) and I couldn’t be happier with Cartthrob 2. I can’t image building a shopping cart in EE2 without this product.
